Hair Brained

 Worked on Xander's look a little bit last week, and I forgot to post anything about it. Maybe it's time to actually share. (Also, maybe I should learn to post more...)

 I'm not married to any of the designs I've posted, but the first one may be my favorite. His hair is a little long, but not too long. He looks proper, maybe a little business-y. The second shot feels a little like Steve Jobs, especially with the turtle neck that we decided Xander wears. of the three designs in the last shot, I think I like the right-most hairstyle the best.

Obviously we're still working on him.

What am I Working on This Week? 03/29/21

 We're still working on the look of things now. We have an animatic and a couple mood boards due today, and I think we have a good scope so far. Gabe and Sharah did some amazing stuff on our current animatic.

 I'm still working on my own storyboards, which has been rough between work and other classes. I also think I'm going too far into it as far as details and stuff goes. I need to switch to just blocky things, no face unless I really need to show an emotion, no backgrounds, barely any clothing details type thing

Plan for the time being:

On the Topic of Xander

 We're still trying to figure out the look for Xander, and while we're not anywhere close to done, I think we're going in a good direction. We're looking at white, redheaded, and lanky opposed to where we're falling with Emily's brown, brunette, short and a little thicc. Anyway, we found this online, and I think we're going to run and play with it.

 There's a lot of talk in our group about Xander's motives and interests right now. Sharah and Lindsey are worried that Xander's final decision in the film, which I will not be revealing in it's entirety here, is made purely out of selfishness. Interestingly, we all agree on one thing: the choice to end a relationship isn't one to be made lightly. The problem that the girls (a term which I use only because they're the only girls in the group) have with choice, is that Emily doesn't have a say in the matter. But I don't think that Xander's choice was unwarranted, or cold, but in my opinion it was done with a sense of "I've been holding her back, and the only way to keep her from wasting more time on me (Xander) is to stop my wasting her time before I start.

 That did give away a litle more than I wanted to, but it's kind of hard not to in these situations. It would skirt around the issue a little if I kept everything in the dark.

 We'll tell you all more about it later in the process, I promise. 

  On a weirder note, a few of us did some team building today by playing (or watching) some Fall Guys. My first time playing it, and it was a ton of fun, but we had a (mostly non-serious) conversation about making the Present Fall Guys film. That led me to create this little fella to the right here.

What am I Working on This Week? 03/15/21

So, I think we finally decided on the direction we're taking our story. And it turns out, with a little direction from Howard, we're going to wind up going with the original story.

Again.

Which is cool. I like the original version of the story. This however means that I need to get back onto my storyboarding for the original. Didn't work on it this weekend, because to be fair, the snowstorm really screwed me as far as work goes (yay, 10 hour work days). So, this week I'm working on storyboarding and also working on my demo reel, because I'm digging a hole and it feels like I'm drowning a bit...

What am I Working on This Week? 03/01/21

 There was a conversation had yesterday, where a few of our members (mainly Lindsey and Sharah) had some issues with how the story plays out. Totally understandable, that kind of stuff happens. There is a plan for a presentation about what sort of direction Lindsey has an idea of how the story should go. This is going to brutally shake up our story I think, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. But it means that we need to sit down and re-script. So, we're working on that today.

 Meaning that my list this week is going to be new script!
